Troy Grant
Troy was born and raised in Saskatchewan until he enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces. After a 25-year career in the Canadian Army, he retired in Edmonton and now resides in Morinville, AB.
Post military, Troy was hired by Sturgeon County as the General Manager responsible for Land Planning and Development, Economic Development, Family Community Services, Agricultural Services, and Protective Services. During his time as GM, Troy learned and became appreciative of the myriad tasks associated with land use zoning, re-zoning, municipal development plans, area structure planning and the approval processes associated with these tasks.
After Sturgeon County, Troy accepted an offer to become the president of Landrex. Landrex is a medium-sized development company that focuses on land acquisition, planning, design, construction and development in and around the Edmonton Capital Region.
Of all the tasks associated with the role of president, Troy was most interested in learning about site selection and acquisitions. With these new experiences, he created a new, small land development company that eventually evolved into the success that is today TLA Developments. TLA would not exist today without the combined experiences of Troy, Chris, and Sunny – each with their own personal styles and experiences.
